|Jesus: The Great I Am
||God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you
are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.'"
||Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He
who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will
never be thirsty."
||When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I
am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life."
||I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep
||Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the
life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;"
||Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the
life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
|Deity of Christ
||At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he
said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with
your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For
the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
||Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying,
"Truly you are the Son of God."
||And again, when God brings his firstborn into the
world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him."
||All have turned away, they have together become worthless;
there is no-one who does good, not even one.
||He and all his family were devout and God-fearing;
he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly.
||When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and
honoured the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal
||Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly; "We
had to speak the Word of God to you first. Since you reject it and
do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to
||Husbands love your wives, just as Christ loved the
church and gave himself up for her.

||The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some
understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to
perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
||No one can come to me unless the Father who sent
me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.
||You stiff-knecked people with uncircumcised hearts
and ears! You are just like your fathers: you always resist the Holy
||My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than
all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.
|| If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch
that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown
into the fire and burned.
|The Word II
||Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and
prove you a liar.
||My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. "Because
you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because
you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children."
||Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not
know the Scriptures or the power of God."
||If anyone chooses to do God's will, he will find
out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.
||See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow
and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the
basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.
||Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your
pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet,
and then turn and tear you to pieces.
||Whatever town or village you enter, search for some
worthy person there and stay at his house until you leave.
||Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did
we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and
perform many miracles?'
||He said to him, "If they do not listen to Moses and
the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from
||By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed
in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been
given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
||So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there,
speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace
by enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders.
|2 Timothy 1:6
||For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the
gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
||Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you
eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration
or a Sabbath day.
||God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in
spirit and truth.

||These are a shadow of the things that were to come;
the reality, however, is found in Christ.
